Power to the women

A debate was held at the South Calcutta Girls’ College on the eve of International Women’s Day. The topic was: In the opinion of the House, men in the 21st century award women adequate respect. Speaking for the motion were Chandrabindoo’s Anindya Chattopadhyay and journalist Raghab Bandyopadhyay among others. Speaking against the motion were Bappaditya Mukherjee and Debi Bhattacharya among others. Ranjugopal Mukherjee, ex-vice-chancellor, North Bengal University, moderated the event.
