Leyland revamp plan

Ashok Leyland has announced that Avia Ashok Leyland Motors and Ashok Leyland (UAE) have ceased to be its subsidiaries since March 29, following a restructuring of the ownership pattern. Avia Ashok Leyland Motors was part of Ashok Leyland since October 2006 and manufactured trucks that are marketed in the Czech Republic, Hungary, the UK, Ireland, Slovakia and Spain.

Cognizant

Cognizant was invited to participate in The Forrester Wave: North American Outsourcing Q1 2007. In the evaluation, the company was declared the top offshore provider for North American applications outsourcing. The Forrester Research report said Cognizant received the highest overall grade for cultural fit while remaining price-competitive.

Direm Marketing Services (Mumbai) has been renamed Direxions Marketing Solutions. The agency plans to focus on new marketing solutions. It will be equipped to manage the needs of marketers wishing to leverage on new media, new tools and new approaches.

MindTree

MindTree Consulting has launched an infrastructure management and technical support (IMTS) business. The ITMS business undertakes the management of the IT infrastructure of global enterprises.

Stone India

Stone India has received an initial order to supply 100 sets of wagon air brake system to a Chinese wagon builder. The order is valued at Rs 85 lakh.

Innova hotel

Innova Hotels and Resorts Pvt Ltd plans to invest Rs 200 crore to develop three hotels in the country. The company will develop and promote the Clarion brand of choice hospitality.
