TELL ME WHY

Have you ever wondered why a lizard sheds its tail? Well, it does so in order to escape from its assailant or predator and keep it at bay. Thus, its tail serves the purpose of a defence mechanism.

It generally sheds its tail to puzzle the enemy. When its tail is caught by an assailant, the lizard simply snaps off its tail. However, the loss of its tail is never permanent. A brand new tail grows out quickly from the previous stump.
