cub roll
Triple delight
Three white tiger cubs debuted at the Buenos Aires Zoo in Argentina. The trio tumbled and played in their pen much to the delight of the children and their parents who had gathered there to watch them. The white tiger triplets were born on December 23. At birth, they weighed a little more than two pounds each. And they are growing. Adult tigers can weigh up to nearly 600 pounds. Zoo officials are especially proud of their newest members. They are Bengal tigers, a species that is normally orange with black stripes. In fact, white tigers are very rare. The zoo has asked kids to help them name the cubs. Young visitors have the opportunity to write down their suggestions alongwith their contact information. The cubs’ names will be chosen in a draw in three months. Each of the winners can then be a godfather or godmother to a cub.
smart cat
Macavity
Have you heard of the cat who goes to the market for fish and chips? Well, London has a strange bus commuter. It has no ticket, sits under the seat quietly and jumps off when its stop arrives. It’s a white cat and has been named Macavity after the mystery cat in T.S. Eliot’s poem. It has started using the No. 331 since January this year. It gets onto the busy Walsall to Wolverhampton bus and then jumps off 440 metres down the road. A passenger who takes the No. 331 to work said the cat sits quietly at the front of the bus and is quite the perfect passenger, it minds its own business and then gets off at its stop. That’s a smart cat.
