TELL ME WHY

Have you ever wondered why hat making is referred to as ‘millinery’? Well, the art of hat making is so called because in ancient times the most beautiful and elegant hats and head-dresses were made in Milan, Italy. An inhabitant of the city of Milan is called a Milaner, and although the term is spelt differently today, a hat maker in any part of the world is still referred to as a ‘milliner’.
