Grasim PAT up 81%

April 25 (PTI): Grasim Industries, the Aditya Birla Group flagship, has posted an 80.59 per cent jump in profit after tax to Rs 474.49 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31 from Rs 262.74 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

Total income increased to Rs 2,571.33 crore in the quarter, up 36.24 per cent from Rs 1,887.29 crore in the year-ago period, Grasim Industries has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The company recorded a net profit of Rs 1,535.81 crore in the year ended March 31 compared with Rs 863.21 crore in the previous fiscal.

Idea Cellular

Idea Cellular has reported a 133 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 132.01 crore in the fourth quarter of 2006-07 from Rs 56.60 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

Total revenues of the Aditya Birla Group firm increased to Rs 855.54 crore in the quarter ended March 31, up 46.3 per cent from Rs 584.86 crore a year ago, the company has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

For the year ended March 31, Idea posted a net profit of Rs 277.72 crore against Rs 125.60 crore in the previous fiscal.

Total revenues for the period increased to Rs 2,826.58 crore from Rs 2,021.06 crore in 2006.

On a consolidated basis, net profit stood at Rs 193.42 crore in the fourth quarter compared with Rs 116.80 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2006.

Godrej Consumer

Godrej Consumer Products has reported a 28.94 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 38.89 crore in the quarter ended March 31 from Rs 30.16 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal.

The total income (net of excise) grew 14.36 per cent to Rs 188.45 crore in the quarter from Rs 164.78 crore a year ago, the company has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The company has declared a fourth interim dividend of Rs 1.25 on shares of Re 1 each, or 125 per cent, for the fiscal.
