Maran, Nath meet PC
New Delhi, April 25: Ahead of the FIPB meeting on Friday, telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran and commerce minister Kamal Nath today met finance minister P. Chidambaram and are understood to have discussed the Hutch-Vodafone deal. “I am meeting my ministry officials tomorrow to take a view on the law ministry’s views on the Hutch-Vodafone deal,” Nath said. “We have already given our views to the finance ministry,” Maran said, declining to comment on what he discussed with Chidambaram.
Moody’s rating
New Delhi, April 25: Global rating agency Moody’s Investors Service has said ratings of Indian banks, especially public sector banks, have improved due to their sound financial fundamentals and strong franchises. “Majority of the banks have benefited from a one-notch upgrade of their bank financial strength rating (bfsr) methodologies,” Moody’s said in a statement.
RPL refinery
Mumbai, April 25: Reliance Petroleum has said the progress of the refinery at Jamnagar sez is satisfactory and is expected to be commissioned by December 2008.
ONGC pact
New Delhi, April 25: ongc has signed an agreement with Oil India for transportation of its Assam crude oil. The renewal of the MoU would facilitate transportation of crude oil from ongc’s Lakwa, Galeki, Borholla and Rudrasagar oilfields through pipelines owned and operated by Oil.
