Blast verdict

Mumbai, May 23: A watchman who worked for the government but helped those who smuggled explosives for the 1993 Bombay blasts has been handed a nine-year jail term, reports our correspondent.

“Who were your real bosses? The government, or the smugglers to whom you accorded such hospitality for a paltry amount of Rs 2,000?” special court judge Pramod Kode asked Tulshiram Dhondu Surve as he passed the order. He has also been asked to pay a penalty of Rs 55,000.
