REGIONAL MATHEMATICAL OLYMPIAD (RMP), 2007

SUBJECT: The Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMP), 2007, will be held on October 7, 2007. The six best students will be selected for the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) to be held on January 20, 2008.

ELIGIBILITY: Students of Class VIII to XII can appear for the RMO.

PARTICULARS: There is no application form. Apply on plain paper (preferably forwarded by a teacher or at least, with the school stamp) giving (in block letters) your name, mailing address with phone number, class, name and postal address of the school, and the centre you prefer. Test centres are located at Berhampore, Burdwan, Calcutta, Kharagpur, Purulia, Santiniketan and Siliguri.

Each completed application should be accompanied by a self-addressed 12’’ x 6” size stamped envelope (worth Rs 20) and a demand draft of Rs 60, drawn in favour of the Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, on any nationalised bank in Calcutta. Applications should be sent to Pradipta Bandopadhyay, Regional Coordinator, Mathematical Olympiad, stat-math division, ISI, 202 Barrackpore Trunk Road, Calcutta-700108. Applications will be accepted from June 18, 2007 to August 31, 2007.

Clinical Research

INSTITUTE OF CLINICAL RESEARCH (INDIA) (ICRI), NEW DELHI

SUBJECT: ICRI, India’s premier institution in clinical research studies, in collaboration with Cranfield University, UK, invites applications for its two-year full-time MSc course in clinical research, which will begin from August 20, 2007, on its Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Ahmedabad campuses.

ELIGIBILITY: Students who have received a BSc or an MSc degree in life sciences (microbiology, genetics, biotechnology, biology, chemistry) or an MPharma, BPharma, MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BSc (nursing) or a BDS degree may apply. Applicants will have to appear for a written exam and an interview. Seats are available on a first come first serve basis.
