Biocon Limited has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Deakin University, Australia. This MoU between Biocon and Deakin University will result in the setting up of a research institute in Bangalore. “This partnership will facilitate projects in areas of mutual interest,” says Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, chairman and managing director, Biocon Limited. Biocon collaborates with academic institutions and biotech companies across the world; and with Deakin’s capability for research in a multi-disciplinary environment, the tie-up will harness this expertise to provide solutions in the area of mammalian cell bioprocessing and metabolic diseases.
