Krishnagar, June 16: An 18-year-old was arrested today for allegedly murdering his teenaged niece after raping her and making her pregnant.

The girl’s body was dug up from a field near her home in Pukuria village in Nadia district’s Chapra.

Abdul Rashid Mondal, a Class XII student, confessed to strangling his cousin’s daughter and burying her when she threatened to reveal his name, police said.
