Calcutta: Delhi archer Abhishek Verma took Chinese Taipei by storm, creating a new record in the compound bow qualification round scoring 669 out of a possible 720 points at the Taiwan Archery Range.

According to information reaching here, Verma shot 335 and 334 in the two 70m distance qualifiers to come first. He was followed by teammate Sumit Mishra of Jharkhand with 646 .

Nisha Rani Dutta of Tata Archery Academy stood first in the girls’ recurve.
