Dortmund: World No.1 Viswanathan Anand displayed his mastery of the endgame to crush German Arkadij Naiditsch in the fourth round of the Super Grandmasters Chess Tournament on Wednesday.
The maiden victory placed Anand in joint second spot with Evgeny Alekseev, half-a-point behind sole leader, world champion Vladimir Kramnik, who continued his awesome form to overwhelm Norwegian prodigy Magnus Carlsen.
Mamedyarov also played out a draw, against Boris Gelfand. Grandmaster Evgeny Alekseev, seeded seventh among the eight players, continued his excellent performance by holding Hungarian Grandmaster Peter Leko to a draw. (PTI)
