Calcutta: Senior journalist and regional manager (East) of Press Trust of India, Shahid Ahmed Khan, died on Saturday after battling cancer for almost two years. He was 48 and is survived by wife and two daughters.

Before taking over as the regional manager, he had served as PTI’s correspondent in Islamabad for three years.
