New Delhi: Shot putter Navpreet Singh fetched India’s second gold while Preeja Sreedharan won her second silver on the fourth day of the 17th Asian Athletics Championship in Amman, Jordan, on Saturday.

Navpreet put away the iron ball to 19.70m in his second attempt to claim the gold.

Earlier, Preeja finished second in 5000m women’s final to bag her second silver of the meet. Preeja clocked 16:56.16s behind Bahrain’s Jasmin Saleh Kareema (16:40.87).

Adding to the Indian medal tally was Krishna Poonia, who won a bronze medal in the women’s discus throw with her effort of 55.38m. (PTI)
