Arthanomics, the annual finance seminar of the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, was held on August 11 and 12, 2007, on the institute’s campus in Kozhikode, Kerala. The theme of this year’s seminar was India as the financial hub of Asia by 2015: Dream or Reality. The main speakers were Vasumathi Kumar, executive director, United India Insurance and S. Chattopadhyay, general manager, Bankers Training College, Reserve Bank of India. Erudite, an equity research game, was launched on the occasion. In the next one month, students from various IIMs and other top B-schools will compete for prize money worth Rs 75,000. Also, Oil Raiders (an oil-based derivatives game) and a panel discussion on Infrastructure: Transforming bottlenecks into milestones went down well with the audience.
