Baghdad, Aug. 26 (Reuters): Bangladesh’s interim government has said violence and curfew would not stop the authorities from holding a credible election by the end of the next year.

“The incident won’t deflect Bangladesh from its roadmap to hold a credible election by December next year,” adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury said today.

Iraq meeting

Baghdad (Reuters): Iraq’s top Shia, Sunni and Kurdish political leaders reached consensus on some US benchmarks on Sunday that are seen as crucial to healing the deep rifts in the country.

UK shooting

London (Reuters): Three teenagers were injured in a shooting in a London street early on Sunday, police said. A boy aged 13 was shot in the leg, an 18-year-old man in the chest and a woman aged 18 in the back.
