Born again

Colour all around

The beaches of california have turned very colourful of late. Wondering how? Well, the endangered El Segundo Blue, a rare butterfly, has been spotted recently along the Santa Monica Bay. The species has been on the endangered list since 1976 due to the loss of their native habitat. Many scientists have been involved with the restoration of the El Segundo Blue habitat. They have also helped to nurture them in butterfly reserves. The El Segundo Blue has a wingspan of an inch and it gets its nectar from buckwheat. The buckwheat plant had earlier stopped growing in this area. But now efforts are being made to grow buckwheat again to attract the lost butterflies. Here’s hoping that the El Segundo Blue continues to brighten the California countryside.

spidey’s here

Sticky suit

Do you still dream of being Spider-man and swinging from one place to another? If yes, there’s hope for you. Researchers have said that a high-tech suit can help a human replicate the activities of Spidey. By wearing this special suit, one can hang upside-down or crawl up vertical walls with ease. A professor from Turin has suggested that the suit can be made by using artificial sticky technology, modelled on spider hair that allow them to stick to walls.
