Study outlay

New Delhi, Sept. 13: The Planning Commission, at a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, today decided on a four-fold increase in spending on education under the 11th Five-Year Plan.

Under the 11th plan, India will spend Rs 2.5 lakh crore, nearly four times the outlay under the 10th plan. The overall share of education in the 11th plan will be 19.4 per cent, a massive leap over the 7.7 per cent of the current plan.
