HSIL new unit

Hindustan Sanitaryware & Industries (hsil) will expand the capacity of its container glass division by 68 per cent. The board of directors has approved the proposal for setting up a production facility in Andhra Pradesh at an investment of Rs 210 crore. The unit will produce around 425 tonnes of container glass per day. The project will be funded through additional debt and internal accruals and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2009.

Moser Baer

Moser Baer will set up a solar photovoltaic fabrication unit in the special economic zone (SEZ) at Oragadam in Chennai. “The plant will be ready by 2009 and is coming up at an initial investment of Rs 2,000 crore. It will employ about 4,000 people,” company managing director Deepak Puri said. The company is in talks with the state government for another 100 acres at the Oragadam sez.

Kishore Biyani’s Future Media has acquired the media rights of INOX Leisure Ltd for the next two-and-a-half years. Fidelity fund

Fidelity Fund Mana- gement Pvt Ltd has launched Fidelity Liquid Plus Fund with a credit risk rating of mfA1+ from Icra. It is an open-ended debt scheme that aims to generate reasonable returns and liquidity through investments in the money market and short-term debt instruments.

SAIL pact

Steel Authority of India Ltd has signed a memorandum of understanding with ILF&S Infrastructure Development Corporation to build, operate and maintain a special purpose vehicle at Salem in Tamil Nadu.

GE Equipment

GE Equipment Services has provided financing to ETA Engineering Pvt Ltd to purchase more than 200 wagons for the Indian Railways. The wagons are designed to carry freight containers.
