Meet on SEZs today

New Delhi, Sept. 17: The Centre will take up 19 SEZ proposals — including the induction of co-developers in Mukesh Ambani-promoted Navi Mumbai SEZ and projects planned by DLF and TCS — tomorrow. The Navi Mumbai SEZ has sought the government’s approval to include seven co-developers to build water and power supply systems.

Honda Civic

New Delhi, Sept. 17: Honda, which is recalling over 1.8 lakh units of its luxury sedan Civic globally, today said it will not recall the models in India as the vehicles here were not affected.

Coke complex

Mumbai, Sept. 17: Hooghly Met Coke & Power Co, a joint venture between Tata Steel and WBIDC, is in the advanced stages of setting up a standalone coke ovens complex and a power plant in Haldia. It is designed to manufacture 1.6mt of metallurgical coke per year.

Cognizant

Chennai, Sept. 17: The board of Cognizant Technology Solutions has declared a two-for-one stock split on its capital stock in the form of a stock dividend. A press release from the company said stockholders on record as of October 1, 2007 would be entitled to one additional share of common stock for each share held on the record date.

Fortuna Tech

Hyderabad, Sept. 17: Finnish telecom company Tietoenator has signed an agreement to acquire Fortuna Technologies for about Rs 117.84 crore.

CII survey

New Delhi, Sept. 17: Bullish on the growth of the country’s economy, a large majority of CEOs do not see a slowdown in investments during this fiscal, according to a CII survey.

Sarin visit

Mumbai, Sept. 17: Vodafone CEO Arun Sarin will arrive here in a few days to oversee operations of the Vodafone-Hutch venture. Sarin will also consult with the key officials his future plans for the Indian market.
