Foreign brands on Trent shelf

Mumbai, Sept. 18: Trent Ltd plans to bring two to three new foreign apparel brands to India.

Trent managing director Noel Tata said: “We want to create a portfolio of international brands.’’

The Tata group-owned retailer today entered into a strategic partnership with the Benetton group to sell products under its Sisley brand. Under the agreement, Trent will manage three Sisley stores in Delhi. It will also open and manage new outlets of the Benetton brand.

The new stores will be opened over the next few months, starting with Hyderabad and Bangalore and going on to Mumbai and Delhi. Four new metros will be added at a later stage. Trent has 39 stores across three formats targeting the value and mid-market segment. It runs Westside, Landmark and Star Bazaar chains.
