| Meeting on India coach next week
Mumbai: The quest for a new Team India coach is expected to end on September 27 when the BCCI’s coach selection committee will meet and decide on the matter.
According to BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah, they are scrutinising 15 to 20 applications. “We will send them to the members of the coach selection committee which will meet around September 27,” he said on Tuesday.
Incidentally, the BCCI’s AGM is scheduled on September 28 and any decision taken by the coach selection committee, which has three former captains S. Venkatraghavan, Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri on it, can be immediately vetted by the supreme body.

Mumbai: Mohammed Kaif was on Tuesday retained as India A skipper for the three-match limited overs series against the South Africa A team.
Meanwhile, India A look to wrap up the “Test” series against South Africa A in the final four-dayer beginning at Dharamsala from Wednesday.

Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday announced its new selection policy, giving gives the team manager power to finalise the XI on away tours with the selection committee having the final say in a home series.
“On away tours like in the ICC World Twenty20, the manager, coach and captain will select the playing eleven and the selectors’ job is only to give them the touring squad,” an official explained.
