Transafe to set up three units

Calcutta, Oct. 24: Transafe Services Ltd, a joint venture between Balmer Lawrie and ICICI Venture, will invest Rs 100 crore to set up three container manufacturing plants in Kharagpur, Daruhera in Haryana and Coimbatore.

The company, formerly known as Indian Container Leasing Company Ltd, has three manufacturing facilities in Coimbatore, Howrah and Delhi with a total production capacity of 300 containers per month.

“Once the new manufacturing plants start production from the next fiscal, our total production capacity will increase to 1,000 containers per month,” said managing director and CEO G.K. Mukherjee.

“We have already acquired land for each of the plants and started building the Daruhera and Kharagpur plants. The units will be completed by the end of this fiscal,” he added.
