In the last week of October, SinGem Jewelry Institute, Calcutta, organised an exhibition, which showcased the students’ talent. Eight students displayed jewellery designed by them, at the Portico in Taj Bengal. Jewellery made of paper, wood, glass and all kinds of metal was on display. All shapes, sizes and colours of stones, precious and semi-precious, were used creatively with traditional silver and gold. The display managed to enthral people. The highlight of the day was a fashion show, where models sizzled on the ramp while displaying jewellery appropriate for ethnic, party and festive wear as well as for corporate life.

Of fun and festivity
Children’s day proved to be a good day for all Carmelites. All the programmes were very interesting. The most fabulous one was the musical skit performed by four students. They entertained us by singing and dancing to modern songs. We were treated to samosas and chocolates.

Children’s day out
Children’s Day has always been special for students. This year was no exception. At Pretoria High, the day was celebrated with great pomp and ceremony. The teachers put up a great show, which comprised a dance, a skit and songs. After the programme, the students were treated to sandwiches and ice creams. But the fun was not over as a visit to the fete of our sister concern, Nopany Vidyalaya, was scheduled. The fete was well-organised and everyone enjoyed the games, music and food. The visit turned out to be the perfect ending to a beautiful day.
