Calcutta: Chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar left the city on Saturday evening after a meeting with BCCI president Sharad Pawar. Vengsarkar’s departure is significant since the selection for the third Test is slated for Tuesday.

Obviously his meeting with Pawar on the compensation issue for not writing newspaper columns doesn’t seem to have gone well.
