Guidelines for India selectors

Calcutta: The following are the guidelines for selectors issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India:

1. Selectors to watch more domestic matches particularly at the Ranji level.

2. No association with agents of players nor shall they participate in events organised by the players’ agents or contribute articles etc. where such agents are involved.

3. Selectors shall not sit in the dressing room when an international match is in progress in India.

4. Selectors are not required to witness matches when Indian team is on tour. The Board’s constitution clearly defines the selection committee when the Indian team is playing abroad: captain, vice-captain and coach; meetings will be convened by the manager.

5. There shall be no press conference after a team is selected. There will merely be a press release issued by the honorary secretary, giving details of the composition of the team selected.

6. The selectors shall not write any column for any newspaper nor shall they appear on any electronic media as an expert.

7. Only one selector should watch an international match played in India and this will be decide by the chairman.
