Calcutta, Dec. 8: Hare Street police have started a probe against the officer who allegedly turned away Mahendra Das, the taxi driver who came to the thana to lodge a complaint after being hit by a traffic sergeant on Friday.

“He’ll have to justify his action or face departmental proceedings,” Lalbazar said. The sergeant is already facing a probe.
