All India Minority Forum president Idris Ali was granted bail by the high court on Monday. He was arrested on December 7 for allegedly blocking roads in Amdanga, in North 24-Parganas, on November 9 and 10.

Calcutta police had arrested Ali on November 24 on charges of rioting, arson and damaging public property at Entally, Beniapukur and Park Street on November 21. Ali got bail in the case on December 7. North 24-Parganas police took him into custody soon after.“I hope my father will be freed tomorrow,” said Ali’s son Imran.
