Melbourne: Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles suffered a straight-set loss in the Australian Open mens doubles semi-final on Thursday.
But there was some good news for India as Yuki Bhambri beat third seed Daniel Evans of Britain 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 6-3 to enter the last four of boys singles.
The eighth seed will clash with local challenger Bernard Tomic, the No. 5 seed who shocked top seed Cesar Ramirez of Mexico 6-3, 6-4.
A day after knocking out top seeds and world No. 1 pair Bob and Mike Bryan, Bhupathi and Knowles lost 4-6, 4-6 to Israeli eighth seeds Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram.
Erlich and Ram will take on Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra in the summit clash. The seventh-seeded French pair saw off South Africans Jeff Coetzee and Wesley Moodie 6-3, 7-6 (11-9). (PTI)
