The 173-year-old campus of La Martiniere for Girls was witness to a party that warmed the cockles of the heart on the cold night of January 22, 2008.
The usual annual dinner and dance party was given a twist this year with a bonfire theme, and special attention was paid to the lighting up of the beautiful old school building. The grounds were transformed beyond recognition with psychedelic lights and loud, thumping music. And, of course, bonfires dotted the fields as that was the theme of the party. Fire-breathers and fortune-tellers with their crystal balls added a gypsy flavour to the special evening.
Apart from students, the rocking party was also attended by a whole lot of ex-students. The revellers danced away till the wee hours of the morning. In fact, those at the party were having such a great time that people driving across the AJC Bose Road flyover stopped their cars to take a peek at the spectacle unfolding below.
The rollicking night-long party made it clear that the pressure of studies has in no way impaired the traditional ability of La Martiniere students to have a good time.
