Makeover magic

The sari, salwar, bindi and bangles look great on the homemaker. But an occasional change of look is sure to spice things up and keep family and friends guessing. Make-up professional Aniruddha Chakladar shows you some tricks…

Base: Homemaker and beautician Indrani Banerjee has wheatish complexion with mild dark circles under her eyes. Yellow-based Kryolan concealer is applied to cover them up. A foundation from Revlon close to her skin tone is applied. This is covered by the same shade of compact from Revlon.

Eyes: Aniruddha has decided to give Indrani a bright evening look. The eye make-up has been closely coordinated with the ensemble. A combination of green, gold and bronze eye-shadow from Just Gold has been applied on the eyelid and gradually extended to the outer corner. The lower and upper eyelid edges have been lined with a black-and-green kohl combo from Revlon and Jordan respectively. The lower lid kohl has been smudged with green shadow. The final effect is achieved with generous doses of mascara.

Cheeks: The cheekbones have been accentuated with brown and peach-tinged gold blush.

Lips: The lips have been kept quite simple. Nude brown lipstick from Etude has been touched with gold gloss.

Hair: Indrani has mid-back-length hair. Her tresses have been straightened and blow-dried in front for added bounce.

Ensemble: A long pencil skirt has been combined with a V-neck kurti. The colour code is green with a golden print on the sleeves and skirt. A broad bangle and beaded neckpiece match the outfit.

Indrani looks ready for almost anything!

INDRANISPEAK: “It is a super-pleasant surprise. My friends and family will not recognise me!”
