You can’t get through this weekend without...

Eaning your make-up bag

Spring has come and gone but if you have been too busy for spring cleaning, it’s time to take a step back. If your entire wardrobe is too much for you to tackle, take it one baby step at a time. This weekend concentrate on your cosmetic kit, especially the scores of tubes of eye make-up that have piled up over the years. Throw away your mascara, kajal and eyeliner if they are more than a year old. Eye shadows can last a bit longer, but pass them through the feel-and-smell test. Don’t hoard these perishable items — no make-up in the world can cover up an infected swollen eye!

And while you are at it, wash and wipe your make-up brushes. Don’t forget the last rinse with Dettol.

Tracking Tashan

Yashraj Films’ mega release of 2008 should be inducement enough for you to brave the swelter and step out of home this weekend. A not-so-regular Bollywood plot, exotic locales, a quirky score and size-zero Kareena in Aki Narula’s chic clothes make Tashan a must-watch. Queue up!

Drinking lots of water

We don’t have to tell you it is hot. But what we do need to remind you is that you must drink lots and lots of water. It is the only way to prevent fatigue and, more importantly, dehydration. Have it in whatever form you want — nimbu pani, water, watermelon juice, iced tea, herbal tea. But remember, as tempting as it may be over the weekend, even the coldest bottle of beer won’t make you feel any cooler, no matter how beautiful it feels gliding down your parched throat. Alcohol — in any form — only serves to dehydrate you further. Sad, but true. Save it for after sundown.

Cheering KKR

It is Dhoni vs Dada this weekend as the Kolkata Knight Riders in their black-and-gold armour swoop down on Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium to take on the Chennai Super Kings on Saturday. Expect a high-voltage clash.

It is advantage MSD’s Kings as they will have the home crowd rooting for them. They will still be on a high after the win in Wednesday night’s nail-biter of a match against the Mumbai Indians.

But Kolkata Knight Riders have been unputdownable since debut, and there is no reason to expect anything but another top-notch performance.

Don’t shout yourself hoarse, as the match on Tuesday is bound to get even more exciting, as KKR takes on Mumbai Indians at Eden! If one missing Mumbai master blaster is back in action by then, it will be Sachin vs Sourav in Dada’s backyard!
