Cricket star ties the knot

Sambalpur, April 24: Former Team India bowler Debasis Mohanty married Sambalpur-based Ritimukta on Wednesday night in a star-studded ceremony.

The bride, known as Riti to her friends, is the daughter of Chandraprava and Motilal Das of Kansaripara of Sambalpur.

Debasis, accompanied by his cricket friends, went from Hotel Saket to Marwadi Dharmasala in Gaiety Talkies Road in a procession to solemnise the marriage in presence of friends and well-wishers.

The groom looked dapper in a maroon sherwani, as residents thronged the roads to catch a glimpse of the celebrity. There was a heavy rush in front of Hotel Saket as fans jostled for a photo and a glimpse. Sanjay Satapathy, Rashmi Ranjan Parida, P. Jayachandra and former Ranji captain Lalatendu Mahapatra were also a part of the wedding procession.

Debasis debuted in 1997 against Pakistan for Sahara Cup and has represented Orissa and East Zone in the Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy.
