I am a Japanese author. Heavily influenced by Western culture, particularly Western music and literature, many of my novels have musical titles, for example Dance, Dance, Dance, Norwegian Wood and South of the Border, West of the Sun. I’ve also translated many of the works of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Raymond Carver and Truman Capote, among others, into Japanese. Who am I?
