Kalighat in control

Kalighat were in control at the end of the second day’s play against Bhowanipore in the second semi-final of the A.N. Ghosh Trophy on Saturday. In reply to Kalighat’s 534, Bhowanipore were reeling at 155 for five.

Bhukailash promoted

Bhukailash Sporting thrashed Indian Boys Athletic Club by 10 wickets to win the CAB second division league title on Saturday. They, thus, have confirmed their berth in the first division next season.

Brief Scores: IBAC 255/9 (Atanu Chakraborty 75, Pankaj Thakur 5/97). Bhukailash Sptg 256/0 (Sufian Khan 124 n.o., Ritesh Jaiswal 119 n.o.). Bhukailash won by 10 wkts.

Veterans meet

Sadhan Dutta will represent India in the forthcoming World Veterans Table Tennis Championship in Rio de Janeiro from May 24. He will participate in the 50-60 age-group. This is the fourth time the veteran player will take part in the tournament.

AGM postponed

The IFA’s annual general meeting has been postponed for the time being and will be held before June 30.
