Delhi University (DU) has set up 15 centres for the sale and submission of the common pre-admission form for undergraduate courses. A candidate has to fill in a single form for all the courses and colleges where he or she is seeking admission. Except for St Stephen’s College and Jesus & Mary College, all colleges accept the common form. The last date for submission of forms is June 16. Apart from the North Campus and South Campus Deans’ Office, the forms can also be collected from Gargi College in south Delhi, Bharati College in west Delhi, Zakir Husain College in central Delhi and Vivekananda College in east Delhi.

The first admission list will be out on June 26. The admission and payment of fees for students who make it to the first list will start from June 27 and continue till June 30. The second list will be put up by colleges on July 1. Payment of fees will be between July 2 and July 4 and the third list will be out on July 5. Students who figure on this list have to take admission between July 6 and July 9. The fourth list will be out on July 10. The fees can be paid from July 11 to July 14. The new academic session begins from July 15. From this academic session, DU has also introduced tele-counselling and the helpline numbers are 011-27662507 and 011-27662508.

St Stephen’s College

Best Known for: English, economics, philosophy, history, BA programme.

Cut-off marks

Economics: 94 per cent in aggregate.

English: 87 per cent.

History: 84 per cent.

Philosophy: 78 per cent.

BA programme: 79 per cent.

How to Apply: The forms can be downloaded from the college website or obtained by post by sending a demand draft for Rs 400 payable to the principal, St Stephen’s College, Delhi. Admission is on the basis of cut-off marks and interview. The college gives 75 per cent weightage to Class XII marks, 15 per cent weightage to Class X marks and 10 per cent to the interview. Lady Shri Ram College for Women

Best Known for: English, journalism, economics, psychology, political science, BCom (hons).

Cut-off marks

Journalism: 77 per cent aggregate and 70 per cent in English. You have to clear an admission test.

English: 81.5 per cent in aggregate.

Economics: 93.5 per cent.

Psychology: 92.75 per cent.

Political Science: 86.5 per cent.

BCom (hons): 94 per cent.

How to Apply: The college accepts common admission forms prescribed by the university. Students applying for journalism will have to fill in the college form that can be collected with the prospectus for Rs 200. Outstation candidates can obtain the form by post by paying Rs 100 extra as postal charges.

Shri Ram College of Commerce

Best Known for: B Com, economics.

Cut-off marks

Economics: 93 per cent.

BCom: 94.75 per cent.

How to apply: Besides the common form, the prospectus can also be obtained by post. A bank draft for Rs 150 drawn on Shri Ram College of Commerce, payable at Delhi, should be sent to the college.

Forms can even be downloaded from the college website and submitted along with the draft.

Best Known for: Economics, BCom, maths, chemistry, physics, zoology, botany, statistics.

Economics: 89.5 per cent.

Physics: 88 per cent.

Zoology: 82 per cent.

Botany: 71 per cent.
