Sachin never plays for records: Kambli
New Delhi: With just 15 runs separating Sachin Tendulkar from becoming the highest individual Test scorer, his childhood friend and once teammate Vinod Kambli said standing on the threshold of milestones have never put the batting maestro under pressure as he never played for records.
“Sachin lives for cricket and he never thinks about records. He just enjoys playing cricket,” Kambli said.

Calcutta: The launch of the Reliance Mobile ICC ODI women’s rankings will be held in the CK Naydu Room at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai on Thursday, says A Staff Reporter.
According to an ICC release, Jhulan Goswami, captain of Indian women’s cricket team, will address the media after the ceremony. The first set of the rankings will be released ahead of the women’s series between Australia and India.
CAB meet
Calcutta: Laxmi Ratan Shukla will lead Bengal Red against Bengal Green led by Manoj Tiwary, in the SK Acharya Trophy at the Kalyani Stadium on Thursday, says A Staff Reporter.
CAB also named seven players as replacements for those who will play the Challenger Series for the NKP Salve Trophy to be held in Cuttack from October 23-26. It was also learnt that Arindam Ghosh will be named captain of the Under-22 Bengal side while Avishek Bhowmick will lead the under-19 team.

New Delhi: A tough test awaits Indian girls when they take on China, Chinese Taipei and Uzbekistan in Group B of the qualification round for the 2009 AFC Under-16 Women’s Championship. India face Uzbekistan in their first match on November 9, take on China two days later and Chinese Taipei on November 13. All group league matches will be held in Kuala Lumpur.

Paris: Raymond Domenech will continue as France coach until 2010, French Football Federation (FFF) president Jean-Pierre Escalettes said on Wednesday. All but one of the FFF council’s 20 members voted in favour of Domenech staying, said Escalettes.
