amphibicar

Fish ‘n’ drive

Wang hongjun has made fishing dynamic by building an ‘amphibicar’. Hongjun, a resident of Qian’an City, Hebei province, China, has spent 13 years of his life and £10,000 to build himself a car that can be driven both on land and in water. He says that he often drives his new creation to the lake in his hometown for fishing. Hongjun also says that he took his son on a 10-mile-drive into the sea in his ‘amphibicar’. The yellow sportscar has a column-shaped thruster and two propellers, which are placed in the boot of the car. One can also use a remote control to seal the car in order to make it waterproof. Although Hongjun declined to divulge the mechanism of the car and the secret behind its working, he claimed to have built his car with his own hands.

Green board

Times square in new York, US, is ready to become the world’s first place to have an eco-friendly billboard. Ricoh Americas Corporation is going to put up a billboard weighing 35,000 lbs, powered by wind and solar energy. Fitted with 16 wind turbines and 64 solar panels, the board is expected to save as much as $15,000 worth of electricity every month. This board is also said to prevent 18 tonnes of carbon from being released into the atmosphere annually. However, the billboard wouldn’t have a back-up generator and may turn dark when there’s no wind or sunshine.
