Pak officer hurt in ambush

Islamabad, Nov. 6: A Pakistan army brigadier and his driver were wounded after gunmen on a motorbike opened fire on their vehicle in Islamabad today.

Brigadier Hafiz Mohammad Sohail and his driver were attacked in the posh I-8 Sector of Islamabad, police and hospital officials said. the gunmen fled immediately after the incident.

A senior doctor at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences said, on condition of anonymity, that Sohail and his driver’s condition was stable.

Police launched a search in the area though no arrests were made. They found a pistol at the site of the attack. They said the gunmen followed Sohail, who, according to Dawn TV, works for the ISI, as he left his home.
