Torture arrest in Telco

Jamshedpur, Nov. 7: Police today arrested one S.K. Palit for allegedly torturing his domestic help.

Palit, who is believed to have lost his job recently, allegedly tortured his servant Vijay Dehri (14) by keeping him shackled at his Telco Colony home for the past two years.

Vijay, who hails from Baharagora in East Singhbhum and was working at a food stall in Bistupur, was spotted by the accused two years ago. Palit brought him home and kept him as a domestic help. The torture began soon after.

The boy has been sent to MGM for treatment. Telco police have recorded the victim’s statement, who managed to inform his parents about his plight. Vijay's parents came to Jamshedpur from Bahragora and lodged a complaint with the police, who arrested Palit this evening.
