National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is a national-level entrance examination conducted annually for admission to the 5-year integrated MSc programme in basic sciences offered by NISER (National Institute of Science Education and Research), Bhubaneswar and UM-DAE CEBS (University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences), Mumbai. NEST 2024 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for NEST, a candidate must have passed the 10+2 examination or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in the science stream. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories are eligible for a relaxation of 5% marks.
Additionally, the candidate should be born on or after August 01, 2003 (for general and OBC categories) and on or after August 01, 1998 (for SC/ST/PwD categories). The eligibility criteria may be subject to change, so candidates are advised to check the official NEST website for the latest information.
Colleges Accepting NEST 2024 Score
NEST is a compulsory online test that students who seek admission into National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and the University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai must undertake. NEST scores are also accepted by Visva Bharati University, Shantiniketan for admission into various undergraduate programmes.
