WBJEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

 

The eligibility criteria for WBJEE 2024 are detailed below:

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India or OCI (subject to the approval of the Competent Authority). OCI candidates will be eligible for only Unreserved seats in the All India quota.

  • The candidate must have passed the 12th standard (10+2) or its equivalent examination before 2023 or appear in the 12th standard (10+2) or its equivalent examination in 2024.

  • A candidate should have been born on or before 31.12.2006. The lower age limit is 17 (seventeen) years as of 31.12.2024 whereas there is no upper age limit for appearing in the examination. However, for admission to the degree-level Marine Engineering Course, the upper age limit is 25 Years as of 31.12.2024.

Academic criteria for admission require the candidates to be aware of the latest eligibility requirements of different Universities, Institutions, and other academic Regulatory bodies at the time of admission.

 

  • General admission requirements for Engineering/Technology courses:

 

The candidate must have passed the 10+2 examination recognized by the Central Government or concerned State Government with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application/Technical Vocational Subjects as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical/project wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as well as having at least 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category i.e., SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PWD). The candidates are required to have English along with the other subjects mentioned with at least 30% marks.

 

  • General admission requirements for Pharmacy courses:

 

The candidate must have passed the 10+2 examination recognized by the Central Government or concerned State Government with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical/project wherever applicable) in all three subjects as well as having at least 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category i.e., SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PWD). The candidates are required to have English along with the other subjects mentioned with at least 30% marks.

 

  • General admission requirements for Architecture courses:

 

The candidate must have passed the 10+2 examination recognized by the Central Government or concerned State Government with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics having 50% marks in individual subjects as well as in aggregate as stated by the Council of Architecture (COA).
