The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has confirmed that the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) for December 2024 will take place on January 12, 2025. As per media reports, registration for the FMGE December session will commence on October 28, with applications open until November 18. Aspiring candidates can apply via the official website, natboard.edu.in.
How to Register for FMGE December 2024
The NBEMS is expected to release an information bulletin shortly, outlining critical details such as eligibility criteria, application fees, exam format, marking scheme, and the list of examination cities.
To qualify for the FMGE, candidates must be Indian citizens or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and possess a primary medical qualification that is officially recognised by the Indian Embassy in the country where the qualification was obtained. This qualification is essential for registration as a medical practitioner in India.
Last year’s application process required a fee of INR 7,080, payable online via credit card, debit card, or net banking. This year’s details will be available once the information bulletin is released.
This examination serves as a mandatory screening test for foreign medical graduates aiming to obtain a provisional or permanent license to practice medicine in India, under the Medical Council of India (MCI) or relevant state medical councils.
