BCDA College of Pharmacy and Technology (BCDACPT), Kolkata was established in 2006 in Hridaypur, Barasat, by the Bengal Chemists and Druggists Association (BCDA). The oldest organization in the medicine trade in India, the Association set up the BCDACPT to meet the inadequacy of qualified pharmacists in Bengal and surrounding regions. BCDACPT is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT).
The picturesque locale where the BCDACPT campus is present is fast developing into a satellite town, with amenities such as banks and ATMs, hospitals, shopping malls, schools, and residential complexes being available within a 1km radius. The BCDACPT boasts of being a “ragging-free academic institution,” a tag that the Insitute is firmly set to carry around forever.
The BCDACPT offers only one undergraduate (UG) course, Bachelor of Pharmacy, with 100 seats for fresh intake every year. Candidates who have qualified 10+2 level examination from a recognised board with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and 45% marks in aggregate, as well as have a valid rank in WBJEE or JEE Main are eligible to apply for this course.

The Placement Cell of the BCDACPT provides complete placement assistance to the students, including industry training. The campus of BCDACPT provides the best available infrastructure to help students develop the necessary skills and acquire relevant knowledge. The Library at BCDACPT provides access to a large number of books, journals, e-library and reading room facilities with Wi-Fi, as well as a reprographic (photocopy) facility at subsidized rates. The BCDACPT facilitates recreation for the students through various indoor and outdoor game provisions like football, cricket, table tennis and carrom. The academic work is carried out in smart classrooms which are equipped with LCD projectors. The same is present in the seminar hall for workshops as well. There are 12 state-of-the-art laboratories with modern facilities and necessary pieces of equipment.
Additionally, the Computer Lab provides facilities like P-IV processors, writers and printers as well as a satellite communication audio-visual system, SIT (developed by B.E.L., I.S.R.O. & W.E.B.E.L.). The students and staff can also access internet connectivity during college hours. An Animal House approved by CPCSEA and Medicinal Plant Garden are present on the premises of BCDACPT for overall exposure to practical knowledge. The canteen provides healthy and delicious meals at subsidised rates for all to avail. BCDACPT also provides Medical Health insurance to the students during their tenure. Other miscellaneous facilities including CCTV surveillance, chilled water supply from aqua guards, automatic sanitization machines as well as fire safety equipment are also present within the BCDACPT premises.

Admission Procedure
Candidates (co-ed) who have passed the 10+2 examination and have a valid rank in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) or Joint Entrance Examinations Main (JEE Main) are eligible for admission to the B.Pharm course at BCDA College of Pharmacy and Technology, Kolkata, and can contact the Institute via email or phone, or by physically visiting the campus to proceed with the admission procedure. Admission is provided to the applicants on the basis of merit.
BCDA College of Pharmacy and Technology, Kolkata also offers a Post-Graduate degree Master of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutics. Interested candidates can apply through their official website. To apply for their degree candidate must qualify for an entrance examination Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) / PGET with valid marks.

The students undergo industrial training of at least 150 hours in industries like Lupin Limited, Emcee Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Drakt Pharmaceutical, La-Chemico Pvt. Ltd., East India Pharmaceuticals Sun Pharmaceuticals Industry Ltd as well as different Government Hospitals during their period of study.
