Brainware University (BU), Kolkata a part of a 33-year-old leading education group, Brainware of West Bengal, started with the aim of contributing to nation-building through research, innovation and quality education. Located in Barasat, near Kolkata, the university offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
The undergraduate courses BU, Kolkata currently offers are B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering with specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science, IoT and Robotics and Automation; B.Sc. in Biotechnology, Agriculture and Food Nutrition and Dietetics; BBA, with the option to specialise in Digital Marketing or Hospital Management; B.Com; BCA; BA. LLB.; BBA. LLB.; B.Pharm; B.Sc. in Medical Lab Technology, Physician Assistant, Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology, Operation Theatre Technology, Critical Care Technology, Advance Networking and Cyber Security, Animation and Multimedia and Psychology, as well as B.A in English and a number of other Bachelor’s degrees.
BU, Kolkata is a private university and are recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). They are also recognised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (M/o MSME). The university is also a member or affiliated to Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Indian Nursing Council (INC), West Bengal Nursing Council (WBNC), Bar Council of India (BCI) and the Computer Society of India (CSI) among others. BU, Kolkata admissions are conducted online, and they offer scholarships for needy and deserving students.

Admission Procedure
Brainware University, Kolkata’s admissions are conducted online. To apply for their undergraduate degrees like B.Sc, BBA, B.Pharm, LL.B and others, candidates must apply online, submit their documents and thereafter appear for Brainware Entrance Test (BET). Candidates must qualify this exam to get admission. While the admission criteria and eligibility differ from course to course, all students must have passed their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education.
BU, Kolkata provides some PG courses (M.Tech, M.Sc, MA, MBA) with various specializations. Candidate must complete their UG courses for relevant courses with required marks of 40% to 50% aggregate.
BU Kolkata also offers PhD degree programs in various disciplines. To apply for their programme candidate must complete a master's with 55% from a recognized institute candidate must also qualify entrance exam GATE / UGC-CSIR / UGC-NET. and candidates must also qualify BrainWare University Entrance test.

Placements
Brainware University's placement record speaks for itself. The university has a dedicated training and placements cell which ensures the overall growth of students by conducting industry visits and organising placement boot camps, mock extempore and mock GDs. More than 500 recruiters from across the country have attended Brainware University placements so far. Some of the prominent recruiting companies include Amazon, Genpact, Da Milano, Infosys and Khadim's, among various others.
Scholarships
Brainware University also offers a range of scholarships and financial aid opportunities for meritorious students - Brainware Academic Excellence Scholarship ("Brainware Vidyalankar") under which students scoring above 95% are given a full waiver on the tuition fees and those scoring between 90-94% are given a 50% waiver on the tuition fees.
The Brainware Merit Scholarship ("Brainware Medha Britti") is offered for selected bachelor's degree and diploma courses and the scholarship amount is based on the percentage score of the student.
The Brainware Sports Scholarship ("Brainware Krira Ratna") is offered to students who excel in the field of sports. Students holding an International/National level medal, trophy or certificate are given a full waiver on the tuition fees, those with a State level medal, trophy or certificate are offered a 50% waiver on the tuition fees. Students holding a District level medal, Trophy or certificate are offered a 25% waiver on the tuition fees.
