Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Dharwad declared an Institute of Eminence under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, was established in the year 2016 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development under the mentorship of IIT Bombay.
IIT Dharwad has onboard highly qualified faculty members, and they also have some great professors as visiting faculty to teach. IIT Dharwad offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as follows Bachelor of Technology in Engineering Physics, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. To get admission in IIT Dharwad students must fulfil the official eligibility requirements and pass the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced.
Undergraduate students at the IIT Dharwad are eligible for a variety of scholarships. All undergraduate students in the SC and ST categories are eligible for Institute SC/ST Scholarships, which include free housing and boarding. Also, students can have an 'Educational Loan' provided by IIT Dharwad.

Admission Procedure
Indian Institute of Technology, Dharwad conducts an online admission procedure via the website. The students (co-ed) are required to pass their 10+2 school leaving test from a recognised board of secondary education after which they are required to qualify in the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE-Advanced) for applying in the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degrees with four specializations and Bachelor of Science - Master of Science (BS-MS). The final admission is provided on the basis of merits scored by the individual students.
IIT Dharwad also provides Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Technology (M.Tech), and Master of Science (MS) programs. Students must pass the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) entrance exam to be admitted to the M.Tech program, and the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) to be admitted to the MS program. Additionally, admission to the PhD program requires a master's degree and studnets need to qualify GATE and University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET).
