Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal (MCOPS Manipal) affiliated with the Manipal Academy of Higher Education [MAHE], Deemed to be University is the first college to offer a postgraduate master's program in Pharmacy.
MCOPS Manipal initially started by offering a Diploma course in Pharmacy in 1963. Today it covers a range of courses from the undergraduate level to the doctorate level. It was Dr. TMA Pai's foray into the world of pharmacy after his signal success in founding the medical and engineering colleges. Before MAHE received the deemed university status it was part of the Kasturba Medical College [KMC] until 2001 when it became a constituent college. The degrees that are granted by MCOPS Manipal are Bachelor of Pharmacy [B Pharm], Diploma in Pharmacy [D Pharm], Master of Pharmacy [M Pharm], and Doctor of Pharmacy [Pharm D]. It also offers an integrated program as a Doctor of Pharmacy- Post Baccalaureate (PharmD-PB). Apart from the basic eligibility criteria of having a certain academic journey, one must qualify for the Manipal Entrance Test [MET].
The clubs and associations of pharmacy students organise fests related to pharmaceutical matters, and cultural events and strengthen a platform for capacity building of the best clinical pharmacy research and pharmaceutical public health. MCOPS Manipal has an innovation centre that conduces into a broadening research prospect for its students supported by efficiently structured laboratories to have the practical concepts firm and clear.
The library has enriched printed and e-resources. Students receive hands-on training from Kasturba Medical College [KMC] located adjacent to MCOPS Manipal.
MCOPS Manipal generously leads its students with both governmental and non-governmental scholarships and other financial assistance, e.g. Freeship, Scholar, and Achiever Scholarships for B.Pharm, AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver, etc.
The esteemed faculty members at MCOPS Manipal value integrity and promote teamwork to execute quality-oriented research related to pharma ethical understanding. They make an attempt to conceptualise their pedagogic methods based on the individual need of the students, thus students receive an extremely diversified learning experience altogether. Admission Procedure
Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal provides online admission for programmes like B.Pharm, D.Pharm, M.Pharm, and Pharm.D. Before applying to undergraduate programmes, students must successfully complete their 10+2 exams in areas like Physics, Chemistry, and English from a recognised board, with Biology or Mathematics as an optional subject. Students must hold a valid bachelor's degree with minimum requirements in order to apply to postgraduate programmes. Additionally, the candidates must have achieved minimum requirements of marks on the Manipal Entrance Test (MET). The ultimate admission will be granted based on the total merit score.
