Miranda House (MH), located in New Delhi, was established in 1948 with the major aim to provide high-quality education to women. The reputed institution has been approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). MH is affiliated with Delhi University. The admission process is merit-based. Apart from this, candidates have to qualify for the Entrance Exam followed by an interview. As MH comes under Delhi University, a centralized admission procedure is followed. Various scholarships such as Mrs Vidya and Mr Basheshar Nath Taneja Scholarship and financial aid are available for students.

The Miranda House Placement Cell is the primary forum for interaction between numerous stakeholders who influence Mirandians' career goals. The MHPC has collaborated with a variety of prestigious companies working in various sectors, such as DE Shaw, ICICI, Outlook, Oberoi Group, ZS Associates, Matchbox Pictures, ABP News, Urban Clap, and Thomson Reuters, with a newly revamped system of functioning to ensure efficiency and target achievement. The Placement Cell has held seminars with TIME, Talerang, IAS schools, Ashoka University, and Ohio University, to name a few, for those interested in further study. Placement drives at Miranda House observe the highest package of 19.25 LPA and an average package of 7.47 LPA. The basic amenities provided to students by MH include a large library, well-equipped hostel accommodation, indoor and outdoor sports complex, course-specific labs, a cafeteria, well-equipped multi-gym, 24/7 Medical Support Unit, on-campus Wi-Fi connectivity, well-furnished classrooms, an auditorium and a cafeteria.

Admission Procedure

Admission to the different undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Miranda House is mainly merit-based. For admission to the B.El.Ed course the candidates have to qualify in the Entrance Exam followed by an interview. Since MH is under DU (Delhi University) so it follows a centralized admission procedure. For a postgraduate course such as M.A and M.Sc MH New Delhi conduct PG Common Universities Entrance Test.

Scholarships

Miranda House provides different scholarships to its students. In remembrance of her parents, Dr. Poonam Taneja, who studied B.Sc. (H) Chemistry at the college, established "Mrs. Vidya and Mr. Basheshar Nath Taneja Scholarship" in the academic year 2017-18. A duly formed selection committee will choose the student for a two-year term. Fresh applications from II-year Science stream resident students will be invited if the recipient is unable to maintain the qualifying conditions in the following academic year. The prize consists of Rs. 60000 in financial support due by August 31 and a Certificate of Merit presented during the Founder's Day. Mr. D. N. Chaudhari established the Sanyukta and D. N. Chaudhari Award for Resident Scholars in the academic year 2007-08. Students in Semesters II, IV, and VI who live in the college hostel are eligible for three awards. Academic merit and financial necessity are used to make the selection, which is followed by an interview. In the subsequent year, the recipient of the prize must score in the top 25% of their class on the University Examinations.
