National Institute of Technology, Nagaland (NIT Nagaland) is a public technical university located in Chümoukedima. It was founded in 2010 and is one of India's 31 National Institutes of Technology.
NIT Nagaland was set up by the Government of India as part of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan (2007–2012) for to incorporate technical education in the state of Nagaland.
NIT Nagaland provides 6 undergraduate courses with a B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. All admissions to NIT Nagaland are screened through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Applicants are required to qualify for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains. After which, students are put through a counseling process. In order to be eligible for admission, applicants must have successfully completed a 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board.
NIT Nagaland has an esteemed group of faculty members who are extremely skilled and experienced in order to give the students all the academic information they require for a seamless and enriching learning experience. The faculty aims to equip the students with all the necessary skills to succeed in their future workplaces. Their teaching methods include both theoretical and practical analysis.
NIT Nagaland offers undergraduate scholarships to students under the Foundation for Academic Excellence and Access India. They have a Training and Placement Cell allocated for handling all placements. The institute offers its students the opportunity to complete summer internships at reputable PSUs, businesses, and academic institutions like the IITs. So far the cell has secured upto 70% placements for its students. Some of their top recruiters include National Instruments, Polaris, Verizon, Aricent, IBM, and others.
NIT Nagaland in the midst of a hilly terrain in Chumukedima near Dimapur, Nagaland and is surrounded by scenic views and greenery. The campus comprises a large library with around 9,500 books, reference books, periodicals, magazines and newspapers. The digital library features over 1400 e-books, materials and resources such as NPTEL videos, CDs/CD-ROM, databases such as Integrated Library Management Software with OPAC and RFID Technology. NIT Nagaland provides separate hostel accommodation for boys and girls. There are four boys' hostels with a 64 seat capacity and one 56-seater hostel for girls.

Admission Procedure
National Institute of Technology, Nagaland runs an admission procedure for the students (co-ed) in courses of Engineering (B.Tech) based on the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) via the JoSAA/CSAB portal. Candidates must go to the examination website's official webpage to receive the necessary information and apply. Following their participation, candidates must get the required qualifying marks to meet the NIT Nagaland's cut-off to register for the appropriate course, followed by the candidates' final admission procedure with the admission fee payment.
NIT Nagaland also offer M.Tech, M.Sc, and PhD. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score is utilised to select M. Tech. students. Admission to the M.Sc. programme through either the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) entrance exam or the institutional entrance examination. A master's degree in engineering or technology, or in a related field, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 60% is required for admission to a PhD programme.
Faculty
The National Institute of Technology, Nagaland features a group of faculty members who are highly qualified and skilled in order to supply students with all necessary specialised academic information for a smooth and rewarding teaching-learning experience. The teachers' objective is to provide each student with the tools they need to succeed in the workplace. The faculty provide their students with practical analysis in addition to academic analysis to help them prepare for their preferred careers.

National Institute of Technology, Nagaland features a Training and Placement Cell that works to give students the greatest training and job prospects possible. The NIT Nagaland offers its students the opportunity to complete summer internships at reputable PSUs, businesses, and academic institutions like the IITs. Last year, the NIT Nagaland was able to receive an overwhelmingly positive reaction from several recruiters as a result of the ongoing efforts of the members of the Training and Placement Cell under the direction of the honourable Director. About 70% of the initial class of students were placed in reputable companies including National Instruments, Polaris, Verizon, Aricent, IBM, and many more while overcoming several challenges on different fronts.
